I'm disgusted that the Democrats apparently came up with the idea for the Homeland Security Act. This new department will be with us for a very long time, and I fear it may never, ever, lose a reason for its existence. For better or worse, our children's children will be living in a country where their every move is tracked in a single database, and their neighbor can Tip on them.
I can't believe the American Public let this one slip by them without demanding that the bill be scrutinized more, and that it be more fully understood before allowing a vote. Democracy is truly dead. Nobody cared when it mattered, and now Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld and Poindexter are all in charge of this grand database that will track your every movement.
After all, how will they know you're not a terrorist if they don't track you and prove you're not?
